All the Summer School Trainers have worked as developers and coaches of XP teams and are extremely knowledgeable about agile software development. They are regular attendees of London's Extreme Tuesday Club and have each chaired the XPDay conference over the past few years.

Rachel Davies is an agile coach and facilitator based in United Kingdom who works with teams learning how to improve their code quality with Test First and Refactoring. She is passionate about agile software development because it can increase the chance of success in the face of complex problems and recognizes that teams are made-up of individuals rather than resources. Steve Freeman is an independant consultant, and has worked in a wide range of situations from research to developing shrink-wrap software. He was a pioneer of the agile community in the UK and well known for his work on Mock Objects. He led a project that, briefly, was the largest XP project in the UK. Since then, he helped to introduce Agile methods at Thomson Financial, and worked for ThoughtWorks. Steve was an author of the original paper on Endo Testing with Mock Objects and a member of the team that created jMock. More...

Duncan Pierce has been helping companies including Egg and British Telecom improve their software development using agile techniques for the last 4 years. Duncan regularly presents at conferences, including XPDays in the UK, Benelux and Germany, XP2004, Agile Business Conference and ACCU. More...

Andy Pols is an Independent developer, coach, and trainer with a solid grounding in OO design, distributed architectures and Internet technologies. That's the boring bit. The interesting bit for Andy is that he cares about people, projects and getting quality software out the door. That's why he practices agile software development whenever he can. Andy has written his own Continuous Integration Build Server called Beetlejuice. More...
